In the first, you guide one of three irreverent heroes (four, with micro-transactions) through countless castle raids, collecting XP, in-game currency and loot. So The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot it is, and it's a game that's split into two discrete but nonetheless intertwined parts. It would be more accurate to call it The Myriad Diversions for Incremental Upgrades, but perhaps that domain name was already taken. Meanwhile, loot drops are frequent, but the weapons, armour and accessories are usually only a little better than those you already have. Its predominantly user-generated levels come in the form of floating castles in the sky - each with treasure to be plundered, monsters to be slain and traps to be evaded - but those whose designs are too dull or too repetitive are as common as those that are just right. Just into open beta, this free-to-play game from Ubisoft Montreal feels less like one coherent whole than it does a series of bite-sized challenges suffering from Three Bears syndrome. If you’re jumping into Mighty Quest to enjoy season two, don’t forget to check out our guide on how to complete this week’s missions. The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot is a hack-and-slash dungeon-crawler with aesthetic flair and a castle defence title with earnest charm - but its playful title is something of a misnomer. There’s also the usual UI enhancements and gameplay improvements that come along with any game update. Normal mode also gets a little more difficult as the time limit has been changed from three minutes to 2 minutes 30 seconds. New dialogue has been added at the end of Act 10, so there’s reason to go back into those levels even if you’ve already completed them. A new difficulty level has been added too: Nightmare, just in case Extreme wasn’t quite extreme enough for you. Max player level has been increased to 60 instead of 30, which means extra rewards and extra strength for players who’d already maxed out. Some welcome changes have also come to the latest version of Mighty Quest along with season two. This season’s main reward is full set of gear based around Ezio’s iconic outfit, along with a series of missions themed around assassins. Season two of the game launched yesterday, along with a familiar face: Assassin’s Creed II protagonist Ezio has made an appearance, along with a limited Assassin’s Creed crossover. New challenges appear every week, and completing them helps players edge ever closer to better gear. Split into seasons, the game offers cyclical rewards for completing a number of challenges. Which you might have guessed from its full title. It offers simple hack and slash gameplay, but the hook is the constant search for better loot. Mighty Quest launched this summer, instantly becoming a popular mobile title. Ubisoft’s mobile dungeon-crawling looter, Mighty Quest for Epic Loot, has just begun its second season – and a familiar face has made an appearance for the occasion.
